SACROILIAC JOINT PAIN
At Physio on Bayside we use specialist techniques known as ‘Muscle Energy Techniques’ to efficiently assess and treat Sacroiliac Joint and Pelvis pain.
Sacroiliac Joint pain is a common cause of low back pain and can be caused by a number of factors including posture, repetitive bending/twisting activities, pregnancy, trauma (falls/motor vehicle accidents), leg length issues or other biomechanical factors. Sacroiliac Joint pain is commonly felt over either side of the low back, and or at the front of the pubic bone. It can cause pain down the back of the leg (similar to sciatica).
How Can We Help?
MET’s (Muscle Energy Techniques), are a gentle manual therapy treatment that involves using the client own muscle contractions to facilitate relaxation and lengthening of the muscles around the pelvis to allow normal movement and relief of pain at the pelvis.
It can be an extremely effective and successful treatment for clients with this complaint.
